The state of Australian Government procurement
A live look at the Commonwealth market: how many tenders are open right now, who is buying, and where the work sits.
Why this matters
The Australian Government publishes a contract notice for every contract worth $10,000 including GST or more, normally within 42 days. In 2025-08-01 to 2026-07-31 that came to 62,381 notices. The market is not short of work. The hard part is that there is far too much of it to read.
All of it is public, and almost none of it gets read systematically. Contract notices name the buyer, the supplier and their ABN, the value including GST, and the contract end date. That last field is the useful one: it tells you when work comes up for recompete, months before any tender is published.
