AusTender publishes contract values GST inclusive while most quotes are written ex GST. Convert either way, split out the GST component, and check a value against a GST inclusive procurement threshold.
Contract values on AusTender are published GST inclusive, and every threshold in the Commonwealth Procurement Rules is GST inclusive too. Your pricing schedule is almost certainly ex GST. A $120,000.00 quote is reported as $132,000.00, so comparing your price against a published contract value without converting will make you look cheaper than you are.
GST in Australia is 10 per cent. On a tax invoice the GST is one eleventh of the GST inclusive price. Not everything attracts GST: GST free supplies such as most basic food, core health and education services, and exports are taxed at zero per cent, and a supplier that is not registered for GST cannot charge it at all. Registration is compulsory once turnover reaches $75,000, or $150,000 for a not for profit. Check the supplier's GST status on ABN Lookup before you assume a price includes it.
