Appendix A Exemption 16

Lets an agency buy directly from a majority Indigenous owned SME.

Exemption 16 of Appendix A to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules allows a Commonwealth entity to procure goods and services directly from a small or medium enterprise with at least 50 per cent Indigenous ownership, without running an open approach to market. It is the mechanism that makes the Indigenous Procurement Policy workable in practice, and it applies at any value.
