Recompete
The retendering of work when an existing contract reaches its end date.
Contract notices on AusTender publish the contract's end date, which means the whole forward pipeline of expiring Commonwealth work is a matter of public record. A recompete is normally approached three to twelve months before expiry, so an expiring contract is an opportunity you can see coming and prepare for while the incumbent is still delivering. Watching expiry dates in your UNSPSC categories is the most reliable early signal available to an Australian supplier.
